Pearl Modiadie grew up in Tembisa, a township in South Africa. She went to Norkem Park High School and finished in 2005. Later, in 2007, she studied Media Studies and Journalism at Rosebank College. She earned her diploma in 2009.

Pearl started her career on TV by hosting Craz-e, a show for kids on e.tv. In 2007, she also helped host a kids' game show called Crazed Out. She also worked as a DJ at YFM radio station. Pearl was a producer and host for the TV show Sistahood until April 2012.
