The community of Pedro got its unique name from a card game! People playing the card game Pedro decided to name their new settlement after it.
Famous Resident: Carrie Ingalls
Did you know that Carrie Ingalls, a character from the famous Little House on the Prairie books, once worked in Pedro? She worked for a man named E.L. Senn, who owned many newspapers in South Dakota. By the summer of 1909, Carrie was even the manager of Pedro's own newspaper, called the Pedro Bugle!
