Hércules Pedro Lorenzo Alliana Rodríguez (born 19 February 1974) is a Paraguayan politician. He is currently the 31st vice president of Paraguay, a role he has held since 2023. Before this, he was a National Deputy from 2013 to 2023. He also served as the president of the Chamber of Deputies from 2019 to 2022. Alliana was also the leader of the Colorado Party from 2015 to 2023. From 2008 to 2013, he was the governor of the Ñeembucú department.

Early Life and Education
Pedro Alliana was born on 19 February 1974 in Pilar. This city is located in the Ñeembucú department of Paraguay. His parents, Maria Nidia Rodriguez and Hector Ruben Alliana Baez, were both local government officials. He has two siblings, Ana Lucia and Rodolfo.
Alliana went to Cristo Rey Subsidized School for primary education. He then attended Santo Tomas Italian National College for secondary school. As a teenager, he enjoyed playing basketball. He even played in national tournaments. In 1991, he was part of the Paraguay national basketball team.
Political Career Highlights
Pedro Alliana began his political journey in 2006. He first ran for mayor of Pilar as a candidate for the Colorado Party. Although he did not win that election, he continued his efforts.
Governor of Ñeembucú
In 2008, Alliana ran for governor of the Ñeembucú department. He won this election, becoming the governor. This was an important step in his political career.
National Deputy and Party Leader
In 2013, Alliana successfully won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies. He represented the Ñeembucú Department. On 25 July 2015, he was elected president of the Colorado Party. He served as the party's leader until 2023.
After the 2018 general elections, he was re-elected as a Deputy. He then became the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Paraguay. He held this important position for three terms, from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2022.
Vice President of Paraguay
In 2023, Pedro Alliana became the 31st and current vice president of Paraguay. This is a very high-ranking position in the government. He works alongside the president to lead the country.
Personal Life
Pedro Alliana is married to Fabiana Maria Souto. They have four children together.
In December 2018, Alliana faced a health challenge. He was diagnosed with a serious illness and traveled to Brazil for treatment. He received medical care and recovered. He returned to Paraguay in March 2019, stating that he was "cured."
