Pedro Duque Cornejo learned a lot from his grandfather, becoming his student and following in his footsteps. This training helped him become a skilled artist himself.
Where He Worked
Pedro Duque Cornejo created many beautiful artworks throughout his life. He mostly worked in his hometown of Seville. Some of his important works in Seville can be found in places like the Church of the Sagrario, the Palace of San Telmo, and the local Cathedral.
He also traveled to other cities in Spain to work on projects. In Granada, he created more sculptures and paintings. He also worked in Madrid, where he made statues for the Santa Maria de El Paular church after 1725.
One of his most famous works is the choir he created for the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba in Córdoba. This was a very large and detailed project. Pedro Duque Cornejo passed away in Córdoba in 1757.
