Pedro Folc de Cardona (also known as Pere Folc de Cardona in Catalan) was an important figure in Catalonia, Spain. He was born as a son of Joan Ramon Folc III de Cardona, the 3rd Count of Cardona. Pedro lived until April 11, 1530.
Throughout his life, Pedro held many significant positions. He served as the bishop of Urgell from 1472 to 1515. He was also the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, which is like the government of Catalonia, from 1482 to 1485. In 1505, he worked as an editor for the Usatges de Barcelona, which were important laws. Later, he became the viceroy of Catalonia from 1521 to 1523. His final major role was as the archbishop of Tarragona from 1515 until his death.

Early Life and Family Connections
Pedro Folc de Cardona had a half-brother named Juan Ramón Folch IV de Cardona. Juan Ramon later became the 1st Duke of Cardona. Their family was very loyal to the kings of Aragon.
In 1467, Pedro's half-brother, Juan Ramon, married Aldonça Enríquez. Aldonça was related to the royal family. She was the sister-in-law of King John II of Aragon. She was also the aunt of Ferdinand II of Aragon. These family ties were very important for the Cardona family.
Service to the Crown
King John II of Aragon asked Pedro's half-brother, Juan Ramon, to fight against Hug Roger III of Pallars. Hug Roger III was a cousin of Pedro's father. After some conflicts, Hug Roger III, who was the Count of Pallars, was put in prison. He died in prison in 1509.
Because of their loyalty, the Cardona family was rewarded. The lands and titles of the Marquess of Pallars were given to Juan Ramon. This showed how much the kings trusted the Cardona brothers.
