Pedro Waldemar Manfredini (born September 7, 1935 – died January 21, 2019) was a famous Argentine football player. He was known as a fantastic striker, which means he was great at scoring goals for his team.

Pedro Manfredini's Club Career

Manfredini started his football journey with an Argentine team called Racing Club de Avellaneda in 1957. He quickly showed his talent by helping them win the 1958 Argentine Primera División championship. He was also the top scorer for his club that season, scoring 19 goals!

Playing for A.S. Roma in Italy

After two great seasons in Argentina, Pedro moved to Italy in 1959 to play for A.S. Roma, a big team in the Serie A league. He played for Roma for seven years and achieved many amazing things.

In 1961, he helped Roma win the 1960–61 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. This was a very important European competition, similar to today's UEFA Europa League. Pedro was the top scorer in this tournament, netting 12 goals!

During the 1962–63 Serie A season, Pedro was the top scorer in the entire Italian Serie A league, scoring 19 goals. He also became the top scorer again in the 1962–63 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, scoring 6 goals. Roma reached the semi-finals of that tournament.

Pedro also helped Roma win the Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) in the 1963–64 season. He was once again the top scorer in that competition, with 4 goals. Overall, he played 130 games for A.S. Roma and scored an impressive 76 goals!

Later Club Teams

After his time at Roma, Pedro played for two other Italian teams: Brescia for one season and then Venezia. He later finished his career playing for Deportes La Serena in Chile.

Pedro Manfredini's International Career

Pedro Manfredini also played for his home country, Argentina. He played in three international matches and scored two goals.

He was part of the first-ever Copa América tournament in 1959, which was held in Argentina. In his very first international game, he scored two goals in a 6–1 win against Chile. His goals helped Argentina win the South American Championship title that year!
