Pedro Olea was born on June 30, 1938, in Bilbao, Spain. He is a well-known Spanish screenwriter, film producer, and film director. He started his career in movies in 1970 and is still active today.
Some of his films have been shown at major international film festivals. For example, his movies A House Without Boundaries (1972) and Akelarre (1984) were part of the Berlin International Film Festival. His 1974 film Torment was shown at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
In 1993, Pedro Olea won an important award. He received the Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. This was for his historical film The Fencing Master. This award is one of the most important film awards in Spain.
