Peerless is a small place in Indiana, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes or buildings that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger area, in this case, Marshall Township in Lawrence County.
History of Peerless
Peerless was officially planned out and recorded in 1891. This process is called being "platted." The community got its name from a stone quarry nearby that was also called Peerless.
A post office opened in Peerless in 1894. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1932.
