History
Pelzer got its name from a family who settled there. One important settler was Frederick William Pelzer. He was a farmer in Warrick County. Frederick came to America from Germany in 1860.
A post office was opened in Pelzer in 1898. It helped people send and receive mail. This post office stayed open for two years, closing in 1900.
