Peppermint is a Greek film from 1999. It was directed by Costas Kapakas. This movie was chosen to represent Greece at the 73rd Academy Awards. It hoped to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but it was not nominated.
About the Story of Peppermint
The film's story begins at a party where old school friends meet again. One of the friends, an airplane engineer, starts to remember his past. He thinks back to his childhood and his very special friendship with his cousin, Marina. As the movie follows their lives, it also shows what Greek society was like between the years 1955 and 1973. It's a journey through time, seen through the eyes of the main characters.
