Pepsi Raw facts for kids
Pepsi Raw was a special kind of soft drink (like soda or pop) that was made by PepsiCo and Britvic. It was first sold in the United Kingdom in 2008. Pepsi Raw was called a "Sparkling Cola Drink with Natural Plant Extracts."
What made Pepsi Raw different? It used ingredients that came from nature. This meant it didn't have any fake flavors, colors, things to keep it fresh (preservatives), or artificial sweeteners. Advertisements for Pepsi Raw showed it as a more natural choice compared to other cola drinks. Pepsi Raw was also sold in Norway and Australia.
In the United States and Mexico, a very similar drink was sold under the name Pepsi Natural.
Sadly, in September 2010, Pepsi Raw was taken off the market in the UK. It didn't sell as well as Pepsi had hoped, and there are no plans to bring it back.

What Was in Pepsi Raw?
Pepsi Raw was made with several natural ingredients:
- Sparkling water: This is water with bubbles, like in soda.
- Cane sugar: A natural sugar from sugarcane plants.
- Apple extract: This comes from apples.
- Colour: Plain caramel: This is used to give it a brown color, like other colas.
- Natural plant extracts: These included natural caffeine (which gives you a little energy boost) and kola nut extract (which is often used in cola drinks).
- Different acids: Citric acid, Tartaric acid, and lactic acids. These give the drink a slightly tart taste.
- Stabilizer: gum arabic: This helps keep the ingredients mixed together.
- Thickener: xanthan gum: This also helps with the drink's texture.
