About Perambalur District
Perambalur district is located in the middle of Tamil Nadu. It was created on November 1, 1995. Before that, it was part of the Tiruchirappalli district. It was divided into three parts to form new districts.
Where is Perambalur?
The district has other districts around it. To the north, it shares a border with Cuddalore district. To the south, it is next to Tiruchirappalli district. Ariyalur district is to its east, and Namakkal and Tiruchirappalli districts are to its west.

In 2011, the population of Perambalur district was 565,223 people. The number of females was a bit higher than males, with 1,003 females for every 1,000 males. This was more than the average for India, which was 929 females for every 1,000 males.
