Percival Hart was the son of Percival Hart and his wife Ann. He grew up in Lullingstone, a place in Kent, England. When he was older, he studied law at a famous place called the Middle Temple in London. This was a special school where people learned to become lawyers. In 1688, he officially became a lawyer, which meant he could represent people in court.
Public Service and Political Career
Before becoming a Member of Parliament, Percival Hart held an important local position. From 1706 to 1707, he was the High Sheriff of Kent. A High Sheriff was a key official in a county, responsible for keeping the peace and helping with legal matters.
In 1710, Percival Hart was chosen by the people of Kent to be their Member of Parliament (MP). An MP is someone who represents the people of their area in the House of Commons. Their job is to speak for their community and help make laws for the country. Percival Hart served as an MP for about five years, until 1715.
Family and Legacy
Percival Hart passed away at the age of 72 and was buried in the church at Lullingstone. He had married Sarah Dixon in 1689. Sarah was the daughter of Henry Dixon from Hilden, Kent. Percival and Sarah had one daughter named Anne. Anne later married two different men: first John Bluet, and then Sir Thomas Dyke, who was a Baronet.
