In 1601, he was knighted. This means he was given the title "Sir" by the King or Queen for his service. In May 1603, he sent gifts like fish and poultry from his home at Lullingstone to King James at Theobalds.

Sir Percival Hart had at least two sons and one daughter. His oldest son from his first marriage, William, took over Lullingstone Castle after him. His second son was Sir Henry Hart. Sir Henry's son, also named Sir Percival Hart, later inherited Lullingstone Castle when William passed away without children.
