Elba Perla Fuscaldo is an expert from Argentina who studies Ancient Egypt. She was born in 1941. Perla Fuscaldo is especially good at understanding the ancient pottery (ceramics) from Egypt.

Perla Fuscaldo studied history at the University of Buenos Aires. She finished her first degree in 1967. Later, in 1978, she earned her PhD. A PhD is a very high university degree. Her teacher was Abraham Rosenvasser, who was also a famous Egyptologist from Argentina.
Her Work and Research
Perla Fuscaldo has held many important jobs. She was a professor at the University of Buenos Aires. She also led different research groups. These groups focused on the history of the ancient East and Egyptology. She worked at the La Plata Museum, which is a Museum of Natural Sciences.
She also directed a journal called Revista del Instituto de Historia Antigua Oriental. This journal published articles about ancient history. Today, she is an honorary researcher at the Centre of Studies History of the Ancient Orient. This center is part of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina.
Archaeological Expeditions
Perla Fuscaldo led an important archaeological mission in Argentina. This mission was in a place called Tell el-Ghaba. It is located in the Sinai Peninsula and was part of the ancient Way of Horus. The Way of Horus was an important road in ancient times.
She also worked with an Austrian team in Egypt. They were digging at a site called Tell el-Dab'a. This place was once Avaris, the capital city of the Hyksos people. The Hyksos ruled parts of Egypt a long time ago. She worked under the guidance of Manfred Bietak, another well-known archaeologist.
