Pete Namlook, whose real name was Peter Kuhlmann, was a German musician who made electronic and ambient music. He was born on November 25, 1960, in Frankfurt, Germany, and passed away on November 8, 2012.
In 1992, he started his own record label called FAX +49-69/450464. He was inspired by many different musicians, like Miles Davis, Frédéric Chopin, Pink Floyd, and especially Klaus Schulze.
Pete Namlook made many albums by himself. He also worked with other famous artists like Klaus Schulze, Bill Laswell, and Richie Hawtin. By 2005, he had released over 135 albums, including his solo work and collaborations. His stage name, "Namlook," is actually his last name, Kuhlmann, spelled backward (Koolman -> Namlook). Sadly, he passed away on November 8, 2012, from a heart attack.
