Peter Yagmoor's Early Life and Football Journey
Peter Yagmoor was born on October 20, 1993. He grew up in Cairns, a city in Queensland, Australia. His father has both Lebanese and Indigenous Australian heritage.
Peter started playing Australian rules football when he was young. He played for junior teams like the Cairns City Cobras and North Cairns. These teams were part of the AFL Cairns competition.
Later, he moved to Brisbane and continued his football journey. He played for the Kenmore Bears. After that, he joined the senior team at Morningside. Morningside plays in the Queensland Australian Football League.
How Peter Yagmoor Joined the AFL
In 2011, Peter was noticed by the Gold Coast Suns. They picked him as a special "Queensland zone selection." This means he was a talented player from Queensland.
Soon after, he was traded to the Collingwood Football Club. A "trade" in football means one club gives a player to another club. In return, they get something else, like a draft pick. Collingwood gave Gold Coast a draft pick (number 47) to get Peter and another pick (number 50).
Peter Yagmoor's AFL Career Highlights
Peter Yagmoor made his first appearance in the AFL in 2012. This is called his "debut" game. It was in Round 1 against the Hawthorn Football Club.
In that game, he made two tackles. A tackle is when a player brings an opponent to the ground. He didn't get any "disposals," which means he didn't get to kick or handball the ball.
After his first game, he was not chosen to play for a few weeks. This is called being "dropped" from the team. But he got another chance in Round 7 against the Brisbane Lions. In that game, he got 11 disposals.
Even with a better performance, he was dropped again the next week. Peter played two senior games for Collingwood in total. At the end of the 2014 season, Collingwood decided not to keep him. This is called being "delisted."
