History of Petersburg
Petersburg has a simple but interesting past. A post office was opened there in 1886, helping people send and receive mail. However, it closed down in 1908.
Local stories say that the community got its name from an early German settler named Peter. He was one of the first people to live there, and the area was named in his honor. In the past, Petersburg was also home to a school, where children in the area would go to learn.
