Petit Lac Saint-François, also called Lake Tomcod, is a lake in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is found in the town of Saint-François-Xavier-de-Brompton. This area is part of the regional county municipality (MRC) of Le Val-Saint-François. It is also in the larger administrative region called Estrie.
Sometimes, tiny living things called Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) can be found in the lake. These are very small organisms that can sometimes make the water look green.
Where is Petit Lac Saint-François?
This lake is located right next to the eastern side of the village of Saint-François-Xavier-de-Brompton. You can find it south of Route 249. It is also west of Highway 55.

The name "Petit lac Saint-François" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec. This commission is a group in Quebec that gives official names to places.
