The team first started in 1948. Back then, they were known as the Eaglettes. In the 1970s, their name changed to the Liberty Belles. Then, in the 1980s, they became the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders. This is the name they still use today.

Becoming an Eagles Cheerleader

Each year, many people try out to join the team. Auditions happen every April. These tryouts are held at the Kimmel Center. The final auditions are even shown online on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. This lets fans see how the team is chosen.

What Cheerleaders Do

The Eagles Cheerleaders do more than just perform at games. They also create special booklets about the squad. These booklets often feature photos of the team.
