Piedmont is a neighborhood located in the northern part of Portland, Oregon, in the United States. It is known for its homes and green spaces.

In 1889, a man named Edward Quackenbush planned out the Piedmont area. He called it "The Emerald, Portland's Evergreen Suburb." It was meant to be a place just for homes. The original area, now called "Historic Piedmont," was larger than the neighborhood we know today. It included parts of the Humboldt and King neighborhoods.

Later, in 1947, a company called NABISCO wanted to build a factory in Portland. After looking at a few spots, they chose a location along Columbia Boulevard. The factory was finished and opened in August 1950.

Parks and Fun Places
