His Early Life and Music Journey
Pierangelo Bertoli was born in Sassuolo, Italy. This town is in the Province of Modena. When he was just four years old, he got a sickness called poliomyelitis. This illness caused him to lose the use of his legs.
He began his music career in late 1973. His first album was Rosso colore dell'amore, released in 1974. A year later, he released Roca Blues, which he produced himself. One of his most well-known albums was A muso duro from 1979.
Working with Other Artists
Pierangelo Bertoli often worked with other musicians. In 1990, he collaborated with a band called Elio e le Storie Tese. He also took part in the famous Sanremo Music Festival. He performed there in 1991 with Tazenda and again in 1992.
His last album was 301 guerre fa, released in 2002. He created this album with help from his son, Alberto, and another famous singer, Luciano Ligabue. He also made a song called "Promissas" with the Sardinian band Istentales.
His Family and Legacy
Pierangelo Bertoli was married to Bruna. They had three children: Emiliano, Petra, and Alberto. His son Alberto also became a singer, following in his father's footsteps. Pierangelo Bertoli passed away in Modena on October 7, 2002. He died from a heart attack caused by an illness.
