Pierre Léonard Vander Linden wrote important books about insects. One of his main books was called Observations on the Hymenoptera of Europe from the Family of Diggers. This book was published between 1827 and 1829.
He also wrote about insects from faraway places. In 1829, he published an essay called Essay on the Insects of Java and Neighboring Islands. This work helped people learn more about the different kinds of insects found in those areas.
