Cardin offered him a chance to learn and work. Yovanovitch worked for Cardin for eight years. He first managed menswear licenses and then designed menswear.
After eight years of designing clothes, Yovanovitch decided to focus on interior design. He started by redecorating his own apartment in Paris. His friends loved it and asked him to design their homes. This is how his successful interior design business began.
His Unique Style and Inspirations
From the very start of his career, Pierre Yovanovitch found ideas in the Swedish Grace design style from the 1920s. He especially liked the work of designers like Axel Einar Hjorth and Gunnar Asplund. He also looked at early 20th-century American designers. These influences, along with his fun and story-filled approach, helped create his special look.
Art in His Designs
Yovanovitch loves contemporary art, and it's a big part of his design work. He collects art himself. He puts modern art pieces into his projects. Yovanovitch often gets ideas for his work from his home and the nature around it. This is especially true for the materials he chooses.
He bought the castle in 2009. He then did a lot of work to fix it up, but he made sure to keep its old, historical feel. Today, the castle shows his creative ideas. It has special modern art pieces made just for the space. It's a great example of his approach to interior design.
