Pilar Mercedes Miró Romero (born April 20, 1940, in Madrid, Spain – died October 19, 1997, in Madrid) was a talented Spanish screenwriter and film director. She was a very important person in Spanish television. From 1986 to 1989, she was the General Director of RTVE, which is Spain's public broadcasting company. She also directed the television broadcasts for the weddings of King Juan Carlos I's daughters in the 1990s.
