Life Story
Pilar Sordo was born in the city of Temuco, Chile. She lived there until she was 15 years old. Her family then moved to Viña del Mar. A few years later, she moved to Santiago, the capital of Chile, to study psychology at Diego Portales University.
After finishing her studies, she moved back to Viña del Mar. She had two children, Cristián and Nicole. Pilar focused on her work as a psychologist, leading workshops at schools and hospitals. The things she learned from these workshops gave her the ideas for the popular books and talks she would later create.
Helping Others
Pilar Sordo also runs the CáncerVida Foundation. This organization helps patients with lung and pancreatic cancer. She started it in memory of her partner, Óscar Letelier González, who passed away from cancer in 2009.
