Pine is located in the western part of Ripley County, Missouri. This small community is found along a county road, deep within the Mark Twain National Forest. If you were to travel from the town of Doniphan, Missouri, Pine is about sixteen miles (or about 26 kilometers) to the northwest. A Glimpse into Pine's Past

Even though Pine is a small community today, it once had its own post office! The Pine post office first opened its doors in 1883. For many years, it served the people living in and around the community, helping them send and receive mail. The post office remained an important part of Pine for a long time, finally closing down sometime in the 1970s.

The name "Pine" is quite simple to understand! The community was given this name because of the many pine trees that grew near where the original settlement was built. Imagine a place surrounded by tall, green pine trees – that's how Pine got its name!
