Pinnacle Valley facts for kids
Pinnacle Valley is a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas. It's located in the far northwest part of the city. This area is special because it sits south of Pinnacle Mountain, which is one of the tallest spots in Pulaski County. Like its neighbor, Chenal Valley, Pinnacle Valley is growing quickly. Little Rock is expanding more and more to the west.
Getting Around Pinnacle Valley
This neighborhood is mainly connected by Arkansas Highway 10. People in Little Rock often call this road Cantrell Road. However, west of Interstate 430, most people just call it Highway 10. Smaller developed areas like Pleasant Ridge and Walton Heights are between Pinnacle Valley and the interstate. To the west and in other directions, you'll find areas of Pulaski County that are not part of any city.
Growing and Changing
Pinnacle Valley has seen a lot of new businesses since the year 2000. Many new offices and shopping centers were still being built in 2006. Alongside these new buildings, there are also some older homes. These homes were built before the area became part of Little Rock. One of these older communities is called Pankey.
The Ranch Area
The Ranch is a part of Pinnacle Valley located in the western section. It's next to Highway 10 on the north side. This area has many family homes. It's also home to some big companies. For example, AT&T Mobility has a customer service call center here. This company handles wireless services for AT&T Inc.. Also, Leisure Arts has its main office here. Leisure Arts publishes guides for crafts. They work with Time, Inc., which is part of Time Warner.
Flooding in the Valley
The area includes the Little Maumelle River. This river caused a big flood on June 5, 2019. The Arkansas River rose very high, almost seven feet above its normal flood level. This was the fourth highest flood level ever recorded for the river.
