Pipe Creek is a small stream found mainly in Bandera County, Texas, in the United States. It's a natural waterway that flows through the Texas Hill Country. This creek is important to the local environment.

Pipe Creek got its name way back in 1852. A pioneer settler was exploring the area and accidentally lost his tobacco pipe in the stream. From that day on, people started calling it Pipe Creek! The nearby town of Pipe Creek was also named after this stream. You can find the town near where SH 16 and FM 1283 meet.

Where Pipe Creek Flows

Pipe Creek starts its journey in the southwestern part of Kendall County. It flows through quiet, rural areas.

Journey Through Bandera County

Soon after leaving Kendall County, Pipe Creek enters Bandera County. For a short distance, it flows through the beautiful Kronsky State Natural Area. This area helps protect the natural plants and animals.

Meeting Other Waters

As it continues, another small stream called Bear Springs Creek joins Pipe Creek. This happens just northeast of the town of Pipe Creek. The stream then flows under SH 16, which is a main road.

Pipe Creek runs alongside FM 1283 for a while. Finally, it flows into Red Bluff Creek. This meeting point is close to a place called Bandera Falls.
