Instead, it's part of the larger county area. Bandera Falls is also considered part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area, a large region around the city of San Antonio.

How Bandera Falls Began
Bandera Falls started as a place where people built homes in 1966. At that time, there were only about 10 houses. By 1990, it was officially listed as a community. However, there were no official population counts from the government census back then. In 2009, it was estimated that around 90 people lived in Bandera Falls.
Where is Bandera Falls Located?
Bandera Falls is a residential area, meaning it's mostly made up of homes. It is located a few miles south of the town of Bandera. It's also about 5 miles southwest of Pipe Creek. You can find it in the eastern part of Bandera County, right along Farm to Market Road 1283.
The community sits on the left bank of the Medina River. This spot is just north of where the river flows into Medina Lake. Medina Lake is one of the biggest bodies of water in South Texas.
