How Pipesville Got Started

Pipesville began to take shape a long time ago. In 1872, a post office was opened there. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. Having a post office was very important back then because it connected people to the outside world.

The post office in Pipesville stayed open for many years. It helped the community until 1902, when it closed down. The community of Pipesville was named after a man named Warren Pipes. He was the very first person to be in charge of the post office there, known as the postmaster.
