Pir Khwaja Hameeduddin Sialvi (1936 – 17 September 2020) was an important spiritual leader and politician from Pakistan. He was known as the sajjadah nasheen, which means he was the head of the Sial Sharif shrine in Sargodha, Pakistan. His family is part of the Barelvi movement, a group within Islam.
Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi also served as a member of the Senate of Pakistan. This is like being a senator in other countries, where he helped make laws for the country. He was elected twice, serving from March 1988 to March 1991 and again from March 1991 to March 1994, representing the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) political party.
Early Life and Education
Pir Khwaja Hameeduddin Sialvi was born in 1936 into a religious family in Sial Sharif. He began his education at a religious school called Darul-Uloom-Zia-Shamsul-Islam.
After his studies, he started teaching and giving religious talks, known as preaching, at another religious school called Darul-Uloom-Deenia. He continued this important work for twenty years, sharing his knowledge and spiritual guidance with many people.
Later Life and Passing
Pir Khwaja Hameeduddin Sialvi passed away on 17 September 2020, at the age of 84. Thousands of his followers came to attend his funeral prayers, showing how much he was respected and admired.
