Piscataway Creek is a stream in Prince George's County, Maryland. It flows into the larger Potomac River. The creek is about 18.6 miles (30 km) long.
For its last 2.5 miles (4 km), Piscataway Creek is a "tidal arm" of the Potomac. This means the ocean's tides affect its water level, just like a small part of the ocean. It joins the Potomac River near Fort Washington Park.
A smaller stream called Tinkers Creek also flows into Piscataway Creek. It joins from the north about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) upstream from where Piscataway Creek meets the Potomac. People have also called this creek by other names, like Pascattawaye Creek and Puscattuway Creeke.
The Fort Washington Light was built a long time ago. Its job was to help boats find their way when entering Piscataway Creek from the Potomac River.
