Plasmo is a cool Australian TV show for kids. It's a science fiction series made using a special animation style called claymation. This means the characters and sets are made from clay. Animators move them slightly and take photos of each tiny movement. When you play the photos fast, it looks like the clay figures are moving!
The show started with a short film called "Happy Hatchday to Plasmo" in 1989. Later, 13 short episodes, each about 5 minutes long, were made in 1996. These episodes first aired on the ABC channel in Australia in 1997. Plasmo was so popular that it was shown in 24 other countries too! It has a G rating, which means it's suitable for everyone.
The company that made Plasmo was called Plasmo Mega Studios. It was started in 1993 just to create this stop-motion series. The company closed down in 2004.
Anthony Lawrence created, wrote, and directed the show. He also helped produce and animate it. You can even watch all 13 episodes on his YouTube channel!

The Characters of Plasmo
Meet Plasmo
Plasmo is the main character of the series. He is a "polybop" and is three and a half years old. Plasmo has a special power: he can change his shape! He spent his first few years on a planet called Pynco. This happened because the "Hatchery" where his egg was, went off course and crashed there. Now, Plasmo is trying to find his parents.
The voice of Plasmo was performed by an Australian voice actor named Abbe Holmes.
Parsty's Adventures
Parsty is another polybop, and she is just one day older than Plasmo. She wears a special tiara on her head. This tiara lets her create a protective forcefield around herself! Parsty has a small pet named Niknik. She is very protective of Plasmo. If she sees someone trying to be mean or take advantage of Plasmo's kindness, like Coredor, she will stand up to them.
The voice of Parsty was first done by Robyn Oakley. In later episodes, Pia Morley voiced her.
Nik-Nik the Loyal Pet
Nik-Nik is a creature that looks a bit like a dog. He is Parsty's pet and is very loyal. Nik-Nik always goes with Parsty and Plasmo on their adventures.
Even though the show's credits say Nik-Nik was "performed by himself," the creators later thanked Colin Timms. He helped create all the unique sounds for Nik-Nik in the series.
Coredor the Space Mercenary
Coredor calls himself an "intergalactic space mercenary." He is secretly very interested in Plasmo. He travels with Plasmo to try and understand himself better. Coredor only has one eye at a time. But every seven years, a new eye grows on the other side of his face to replace the old one! He sometimes thinks in strange ways and doesn't always understand what's right or wrong.
This character was voiced by Phillip Houghton. He also wrote and composed all the music for the show.
Brucho the Space Mechanic
Brucho is a space mechanic. He really wants to become a famous intergalactic space adventurer. Brucho and Coredor became a team after they both failed out of Bounty Hunter School. Brucho is the pilot of their spaceship, and Coredor is the navigator. Brucho always wears a helmet.
Phillip Houghton also voiced Brucho, just like he did for Coredor. He also wrote the music for the series. In an earlier version of "Plasmo and the Bookworm" from 1993, Australian comedian Paul McDermott voiced Brucho.
