Playa Verde is a lovely resort town in southeastern Uruguay. It sits right on the coast of the Río de la Plata. This is a very wide river mouth that flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
The town is located along Route 10. It is about 6 kilometers (about 3.7 miles) northwest of Piriápolis. Playa Verde is next to two other resorts. To its northwest is Las Flores. A small stream called Arroyo Tarariras separates them. To the southeast, you'll find the resort of Playa Hermosa.
