Pleasant Grove is a small, unincorporated community located in Panola County, Mississippi. This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's about 10 kilometers (or 6 miles) west of Sardis, Mississippi. You can find it along Mississippi Highway 315.
A Look Back at Pleasant Grove
In the year 1900, Pleasant Grove was a small but active community. It had a population of 62 people. There were two churches where people could gather, and several stores for shopping.
The community also had its own post office. This post office first opened its doors in 1872. It helped people send and receive letters and packages.
Today, you can still find the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church here. The Pleasant Grove Cemetery is also located in the community. The Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department helps keep the community safe. There used to be a Pleasant Grove School, but it has been taken down.
