Pleasanton is a small place in Ohio, a state in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that aren't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's usually part of a larger area, like a county. Pleasanton is located in Athens County, Ohio.
History of Pleasanton
Pleasanton has a long history. The very first house in this area was built way back in 1817. After that, more people started to move there and build homes.
Later, in 1850, a special building called a post office was opened in Pleasanton. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. This post office helped the community for many years until it closed in 1906.
