Plougastel-Daoulas facts for kids

An old inscription above the south porch of the Chapelle Saint-Adrien. It says in Breton: "En bloaz mil pemp cant hanter cant nemet unan es voe fontet an chapel man en eil sul a mae en amser maest Herry a Castell rector Ploecastell ........ ha sant Adrian". This means in French: "In the year 1549, this chapel was founded on the second Sunday of May, at the time of Master Henry du Chastel, rector of Plougastel, and Jean Kergoz, also known as Monot, governor of this chapel, in honor of God, Our Lady of Confort, and Saint Adrien."
