Polyana Viana grew up in São Geraldo do Araguaia, a small town in the Pará region of Brazil. She started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2013. Later that year, she began her professional mixed martial arts career.

Polyana Viana joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is a very big mixed martial arts organization.
Early UFC Fights
Viana had her first UFC fight on February 3, 2018. She won this fight by using a special move called a "rear-naked choke." This move helped her win in the first round.
In her next fights, she faced tough opponents. She lost some matches by decision, which means the judges decided who won. One time, she lost a fight using an "armbar" move. This was surprising because she often uses the armbar to win her own fights!
