The Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (also known as PUC-MG or PUC Minas) is a big university in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is a private university, which means it is not run by the government. It is also a Catholic university, connected to the Roman Catholic Church.

PUC-MG is known for being one of the best private universities in Brazil. It was chosen as the top private university several times, including in 2006, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014. The university is supported by the Catholic Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte.

PUC-MG has won awards for helping students get ready for jobs. The Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (FIEMG) gave it an award. This award was for having the best ways to train students. It also recognized how well students are connected with companies for internships.

In 2003, PUC Minas was the first private university in Brazil to have a special lab for studying the weather. This lab is called the Centre of Excellence in Climatology. It was created with help from Cemig, an energy company. The TempoClima Center has special equipment to get weather information. It also has a lab for geography students.
