The Popeye Theater with Mister Mac was a popular children's TV show that aired in Cleveland, Ohio. It was shown on WKYC-TV from 1968 to 1971. The show was hosted by a fun character named Aloysius T. MacGillicuddy, better known as Mister Mac. A Cleveland actor named Leif Ancker played Mister Mac.
Mister Mac lived in a tree and had a very silly job title. He was the "Commissioner of the Bureau of Elves, Leprechauns and Little People." This was all part of the "Department of Utter Confusion"! The show featured classic Popeye cartoons. In between the cartoons, Mister Mac and his friend, Clyde Moose, would perform funny skits. The show was so good that it won a special award in 1971. It received a regional Emmy award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
