The Porc-Épic River is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the Malbaie River. The river is located in an area called Lac-Pikauba. This area is part of the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality.

Most of the Porc-Épic River flows through the Zec des Martres territory. This is a special area for outdoor activities. A forest road runs along the river valley. This road is used for logging and for fun activities like hiking or fishing.

Logging, or forestry, is the main business here. Tourism and outdoor fun are also very important. The river usually freezes over in winter. It is safe to walk on the ice from mid-December to mid-March.

Where is the Porc-Épic River?

The river starts from a lake called Lac de la Hache. This lake is about 0.7 km (0.43 mi) long. The river then flows for about 9.2 km (5.7 mi). It goes through forests and mountains. Along its path, the river drops about 127 m (417 ft) in height.

The Porc-Épic River ends by joining the Malbaie River. This meeting point is called a confluence. It is located on the west side of the Malbaie River. From there, the water flows down the Malbaie River for about 91.1 km (56.6 mi). Finally, it reaches the big St. Lawrence River.
