The Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is a large entertainment spot in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It used to be called Potawatomi Bingo Casino. This place is owned and run by the Forest County Potawatomi Community, a Native American tribe. It first opened on March 7, 1991.
Located on Canal Street near Downtown Milwaukee, it offers many fun things to do. You can find different restaurants and a food court here. There's also the Northern Lights Theater, which has shows and dining. The Sky Lodge is a special area for visitors. This hotel and casino is a popular place for people visiting Milwaukee.
A Look at Its History
The Potawatomi Hotel & Casino has grown a lot over the years. In the summer of 2008, it became much bigger. This expansion added more table games and slot machines.
The hotel building is very tall, with eighteen floors. It is one of the tallest buildings west of Interstate 94 in Milwaukee.
In May 2017, the hotel announced plans for another big addition. They wanted to build a second tower for the hotel. This new tower cost about $80 million to build. It added 119 more rooms and suites, bringing the total to 500 rooms. The expansion also included a spa and extra meeting spaces. The second tower opened in the spring of 2019.
Gaming Fun
The Potawatomi Casino has one of the biggest gaming areas in all of Wisconsin. It once had a large bingo hall that could hold about 2,500 players.
Today, there are more than 3,000 gaming machines. You can also find 100 poker and other table games. The poker room offers different types of poker games.
