Pravo, Ohio facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Pravo is a small place in Jefferson County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It's what's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a small settlement that doesn't have its own local government, like a mayor or a city council. Instead, it's usually governed by the county.

Pravo's Past

Pravo had a short but interesting history. In 1892, a post office was opened there. This was a big deal because it meant people could send and receive mail right in their community. It made communication much easier! However, the post office only stayed open for about 15 years, closing its doors in 1907.

Besides the post office, Pravo also had a Methodist Episcopal church. Churches were often central to small communities, serving as places for worship, gatherings, and social events.
