Pressley Harvin III (born September 17, 1998) is an American professional football player. He is known for his role as a punter. A punter kicks the ball far down the field to the other team.
Harvin played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. While there, he was recognized as a unanimous All-American. This means he was chosen by all major groups as one of the best players in the country. He also won the Ray Guy Award, which is given to the top college punter in the nation. After college, he was chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Football
Pressley Harvin III was born and grew up in Alcolu, South Carolina. When he was younger, he played football as an offensive lineman. This position helps block for the players who run or throw the ball. In seventh grade, he decided to try being the punter for his middle school team.
Harvin went to Sumter High School. He became the main punter for the varsity team when he was just a freshman. He also played as a tight end, a player who can block and catch passes. In his senior year, he averaged 42.5 yards per punt. He was named All-State for his excellent performance for two years in a row. Harvin also competed in track and field at Sumter High. He was good at throwing events, placing second in shot put and fourth in discus in the state championship.
College Career Highlights
Harvin started as Georgia Tech's punter right away in his first year. He led all first-year players in Division I football with an average of 44.1 yards per punt. He was named to the third team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). This means he was one of the best punters in his college conference.
In his second year, Harvin was named second team All-ACC. During his junior season, he punted 80 times for a total of 3,583 yards. This gave him an average of 44.8 yards per punt. As a senior, Harvin had an amazing season. He punted 45 times, averaging 48.0 yards per punt. This broke both the school and ACC records for average punt distance. He was named first team All-ACC. He also became a unanimous first team All-America selection. This means he was recognized as one of the best college football players in the entire country. Harvin won the Ray Guy Award as the nation's top college punter. He was the first African American player to win this award.

Time with the Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers chose Pressley Harvin III in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL draft. He was the 254th player picked overall. On May 15, 2021, Harvin signed a four-year contract with the Steelers. During training camp, he earned the job as the team's main punter. He beat out the punter who was already on the team, Jordan Berry.
Harvin played his first NFL game on September 12, 2021. It was against the Buffalo Bills, and the Steelers won 23–16. He punted five times for a total of 207 yards in that game. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, which recognizes the best new players in the league. Harvin played in his first post-season game on January 16, 2022. This was in the AFC Wildcard round against the Kansas City Chiefs. He punted seven times for 348 yards, averaging almost 50 yards per punt.
In the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Harvin had some challenges with his punting. His average punt distance was 43.83 yards. This placed him 32nd among all starting punters in the league. On December 23, 2023, in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he punted five times for 194 yards. This was an average of 38.8 yards per punt. He played in his second post-season game on January 15, 2024, against the Buffalo Bills. He punted four times for 151 yards, averaging 38.4 yards per punt. On February 12, 2024, the Steelers released Harvin from their team.
Joining the San Francisco 49ers
On August 9, 2024, Harvin signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. However, he was later released by the team on August 26, 2024. This happened before the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Personal Life
In May 2025, Pressley Harvin III married his wife, Emily. Their wedding ceremony was led by Miles Killebrew, who used to be Harvin's teammate on the Steelers.
