The Life of Princess Elene
Elene was born in 1753. She was the oldest child of King Heraclius II and his third wife, Darejan Dadiani. When she was young, Princess Elene fell in love with Prince Zakaria Andronikashvili. He was a respected soldier and 13 years older than her.
King Heraclius did not approve of their relationship. He sent Prince Andronikashvili away to the Russian Empire. In 1770, King Heraclius arranged for Elene to marry Archil. Archil was the younger brother of King Solomon I of Imereti.
Prince Archil died on October 6, 1775. He left behind one son and two daughters. Princess Elene became very sad after his death. To help her, King Heraclius allowed her to marry the man she loved, Zakaria Andronikashvili. They married in 1785. Elene died on June 17, 1786. This was soon after she gave birth to her daughter, Khoreshan.
