Princeton is a very small village in Dallas County, Arkansas, United States. It is an "unincorporated area," meaning it does not have its own local government like a city or town. It is located where Arkansas highways 8 and 9 cross, about 7.5 miles (12 km) southwest of Carthage.
In 2020, Princeton was first counted as a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means the government officially recognized it for counting purposes. At that time, only 13 people lived there.
Today, Princeton has a small store with gas pumps, a church, and a village park. There are also a few scattered houses.
Princeton has an interesting history. Before the American Civil War, it was a busy and growing community. It was even the main town, or "county seat," of Dallas County until 1908. In the past, Princeton had its own public school system and a post office. It was also home to four doctors and a dentist. The Princeton Cemetery, which is a historic site, is located in the community.
