Early Life and Career
Priscilla grew up in Dallas, Texas. Her father, Tony Evans, was the senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church. Her mother was Lois Evans. Priscilla learned a lot about the Bible from a young age.
When she was a freshman at the University of Houston, Priscilla worked at a Christian radio station. People who listened to the station started calling. They invited Priscilla to speak at their Bible study groups. Soon, she was asked to lead a weekly Bible study for the Zig Ziglar Corporation. She also joined their team of speakers.
Priscilla worked for a short time as a freelance worker for CBS. She also hosted a local TV show. However, she later decided to focus only on Christian ministry. She looks up to Anne Graham Lotz, who is the daughter of evangelist Billy Graham. Anne Graham Lotz has been a mentor to Priscilla.
Going Beyond Ministries
Priscilla and her husband, Jerry Shirer, started a ministry called Going Beyond Ministries. This organization helps arrange Priscilla's speaking events. Priscilla and Jerry have three sons. They share the duties of their ministry and their family life. Priscilla continues to work full-time in ministry. Jerry manages her schedule and other business parts of Going Beyond Ministries.
