About the Story
Probuditi! tells the story of two friends, Calvin and Rodney. They go to see a magician named Lomax the Magnificent. He performs an amazing hypnosis trick. The boys are so impressed that they decide to try the trick themselves.
The Hypnosis Trick
Calvin and Rodney choose Calvin's sister, Trudy, for their experiment. They use a spinning spiral disc, just like the magician did. Soon, Trudy falls under the spell. To break the spell, they just need to say the special word: "Probuditi!".
A Birthday Surprise
It's Calvin's birthday! His mom asks him to watch Trudy while she is out. She promises to make him his favorite dinner, spaghetti, when she gets back home. The boys think this is the perfect time to try their new trick.
Trouble with the Spell
Calvin and Rodney succeed! Trudy starts acting exactly like a dog. The boys find it very funny at first. But then they realize something important. Calvin's mom will be home soon. And they have forgotten the secret word to turn Trudy back to normal!
The boys try many different ways to break the spell. They try to make Trudy remember who she is. In the end, Trudy helps them remember the word. She does it without saying a single sound.
