Prospect Grove, Missouri facts for kids
Prospect Grove is a small place in Scotland County, Missouri. It is called an unincorporated community because it does not have its own local government, like a city or town does.
The Story of Prospect Grove
Prospect Grove got its start a long time ago. In 1850, a post office opened there. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1907.
The name 'Prospect Grove' came from the land around it. It was named after a 'prairie' (a large area of flat grassland) that was close to where the community first began.
